Originally from McAllen, Texas, a border town to Mexico, Monica has learned a lot about bridge-building which has influenced her leadership and career. She is the first in her family to graduate college, St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX.

Monica is a Chief of Staff at Google leading strategy and operations for a global engineer and technical infrastructure team.

Monica has been an outspoken voice for women and Latinx representation at Google leading 24X7 Women in Tech. She also co-founded the first Latinas@ Google summit where over 600 Latinas participated in a 3-day conference that featured Jacky Cruz from Orange is the New Black and labor and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta.

Prior to Google, Monica spent the majority of her career in politics and non-profit management, working at the highest levels of government in Washington, DC. She served as a political appointee in the first Clinton administration at the US Dept. of Energy helping to advance the administration's agenda. Her values-driven leadership is rooted in over 20 years as a nonprofit executive promoting issues related to environmental and social justice issues, to girls’ education in India and Africa, mindfulness in schools, and basic human dignity in our most vulnerable communities.

Monica uses her life’s work to uplift others and lends her voice to supporting people of all generations to take action and create a better world around them.
